• Support all processes and deliverables related to the quarterly EVM reporting
• Ensure timely and accurate analysis and reporting of EVM financials
• Develop an advanced understanding of economic value measurement for underwriting and investment activities and understand the differences compared to traditional valuation approaches (i.e. US GAAP/IFRS)
• Support other functions with regards to internal EVM reporting deliverables
• Evolve in a multi-disciplinary environment and work closely with finance and risk management experts to prepare and understand their EVM financial results; engage with other functions within the business to further expand and explain EVM know-how
• Facilitate, plan, maintain and improve processes, timelines and reporting templates
• Support and provide EVM insight into various topics, including the new IFRS 17 reporting requirements
• Global ad-hoc requests

About the Team

The Consolidation & Reporting team is responsible for consolidating the Business Unit Corporate Solutions financial results, preparing commentaries for quarterly US GAAP and Economic Value Management (EVM) reporting and driving operational excellence in finance controlling and reporting activities.

The team fulfils a dynamic role including segment and group financial reporting, partnering with the business and supporting various governance and decision taking bodies within Corporate Solutions. We have daily contact and collaboration with various other finance functions (i.e. Financial Planning & Analysis, Capital & Liquidity Management, legal entity teams) as well as other areas of the business, such as Underwriting and Actuarial.
You should ideally have an understanding of economic valuation principles and traditional re(insurance) business, which will allow you to analyze and explain deviations in financial results. A key responsibility will be to drive the quarterly reporting process and ensure timely preparation of high quality deliverables and engaging with and managing various business partners and stakeholders, including senior management. You will also support key initiatives and projects, including financial reporting IT developments and accounting standards developments (i.e. IFRS 17).

About You

• University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance/accounting/economics and with 3 to 5 years of relevant working in financial planning & analysis or controlling activities preferably within a (Re)insurance environment
• Previous experience in Finance or Actuarial desirable
• Experience within the non-life insurance industry is an asset
• Strong ability to analyse and interpret financial data
• Excellent analytical skills with holistic financial thinking and the ability to deliver high quality output to short deadlines
• Eagerness to learn and gain EVM and finance reporting experience (if not already available)
• Aptitude to swiftly understand and grasp complex concepts and subjects
• Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with business partners from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Flexibility to work in both a collaborative team environment as well as independently
• Able to perform tasks with a high degree of autonomy, while partnering closely with all relevant stakeholders
• Team player with strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Strong MS Office (especially Excel) skills required
• Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
• Stress resilient, with the ability to work independent
• Demonstrate personal accountability for area of responsibility
