Job description, responsibilities and duties

Reinsurance Divisional Cost Partners support and drive the direct and full cost planning, reporting and projection processes within Reinsurance in close cooperation with the cost centre heads, Divisional Operations Officers and Division Heads / CFOs for his/her area of responsibility within the Cost Management Team.

Standard tasks include aggregation, structuring, analysis and commenting of cost data. Building on that, the role includes the constructive challenging of cost budgeting and cost management with Reinsurance Divisions as well as close partnering with the counterparts on a Group level. Cost Partners are expected to provide both standard and ad-hoc analyses and presentations for the management teams of the divisions within his/her responsibility.

As part of the Divisional Cost Partner role, the successful candidate is expected to ensure end-to-end alignment with regards to the usage of data originating from the cost management processes for the Division which he/she is covering. As required, he/she may support strategic initiatives and projects by analysing cost impact footprints and subsequently ensuring accurate allocation and transfer of funds. Analysis will require not only direct costs of the divisions he/she is covering, but full costs as well and ensuring accurate control and allocation of indirect costs. Ad hoc reporting and analysis is also a component of this role.

Cost Divisional Partner role will interact with DOOs and department heads and thus, ability to interact with senior managers across functions is a component of this role.

Your main responsibilities:

- Support annual direct and full cost planning and alignment processes for one RE Division
- Provide monthly direct cost actuals reports, run quarterly direct cost projection processes
- Provide services to internal customers (ad-hoc analyses, presentations, stakeholder consulting in cost planning and management)
- Manage and align cost relevant Master Data with a view to continuous optimization of processes and providing relevant information to support managerial decision-making
- Perform value added analysis to enhance transparency and to create productivity
- Become a specialist in the multiple systems being leveraged for cost transparency
- Participate in various projects as it relates to cost analysis, systems and processes, including analysis at the consolidated BU RE level as needed

About the Team

RE Cost Management is within the FP&A department within Finance Reinsurance. The team is a global team with staff in Hong Kong, Americas, Zurich and Bratislava. The team is organized into three distinct areas: Consolidated BU RE reporting and analysis, BU RE allocations and Divisional Cost Partners who are responsible for partnering with the divisional DOOs and department heads. The team mandate is to provide transparency and analysis on direct, indirect, full costs and US GAAP expenses to our stakeholders. We develop and execute expenses plans, forecasts, and performance assessments. We interact with a number of stakeholder teams in a cross functional environment.
