Job description, responsibilities and duties

A unique experience for 12 university students to participate in an exclusive 10 weeks (6 hours a week) program covering the Asset Management field.

The first 3 weeks will focus on introducing SR Asset Management,sharing our different teams and departments through multiple interactive sessions.

The remaining 7 weeks will offer a hands-on experience combining the business and IT side under one of the following areas/modules: Transaction execution, Portfolio Analysis &Reporting and Governance and Compliance.

Additionally, participants will have a group assignment working on real case studies.

About our Department

The Asset Management (AM) function handles the assets that Swiss Re generates through its core insurance and reinsurance businesses. We do so using a robust asset-liability management process. In addition to matching assets and liabilities, our team optimizes risk-adjusted investment returns within defined risk limits. Our clients are the Business Divisions, Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions and iptiQ. Their portfolios are handled individually according to their needs and objectives.

Candidates with education suit the position

University student
University education (Bachelor's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

University student starting 5th year of studies in the fall 2021, having a basic to advanced investment's knowledge, and desiring to start a career in the Asset Management industry.
Proven interest in Financial markets beyond studies
Good command of written and spoken English
Analytical and critical thinking - the ability to work with complex information and interpret outcomes
IT Curious
Mindset - drive, continuous improvement, proactive, collaborative
Attitude - Professional demeanor (patient, well-mannered, respecting knowledge carriers)
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Detail oriented and good analytical skills
Strong teammate
