We are looking for a new colleague to work with us on quarterly closing activities. This role is an opportunity to get closer to the business and to deepen your understanding of the Swiss Re's core business. You will have a possibility to develop your expertise in the various valuations, i.e. US GAAP, Swiss Statutory or IFRS. Furthermore you will interact in a broad network of the Reinsurance functions across various divisions thereby growing your visibility and exposure to the key partners.

Our main tasks are:

-Review intercompany figures and ensure that our quarterly reporting is consistent and follows the accounting principles
-Perform accounting and reporting entries in the various financial systems for Life & Health Ledgers
-Support efficient and effective reconciliation process across all the valuations
-Ensure integrity, accuracy and completeness of the system data
-Development and production of the regular reports and analyses
-Act as contact for any process or control related inquiries for different valuations and for different partners including internal and external audit
-Support on any other close activities and ad hoc work or project

About the team

Accounting & Closing Life & Health team is responsible for the quarterly financial closing for the reinsurance entities across the world. Core mandate is the closing of the reinsurance sub ledger for all relevant valuations. We lead and participate in various finance projects and improvement initiatives. Our team is about 10 people, mainly based in Bratislava.

Personality requirements and skills

-University degree or equivalent in the Finance or Economics
-Working experience in areas of Finance, Reporting or Accounting with basic understanding of financial statements
-Self-motivated and able to work independently
-Strong in organization, planning, process and analytical skills to enable delivery of the quality output within tight deadlines
-Strong teammate with can do attitude
-Good interpersonal and communication skills
-Insurance or Reinsurance knowledge an advantage
-Knowledge of the generally accepted accounting policies in Switzerland and US GAAP or IFRS an advantage
-Ability to understand and adapt fast to complex work-flows and systems
-Fluent in English
