Job description, responsibilities and duties

Our Data Governance Team (DGT) is part of the Strategic Solutions team in Asset Management COO Office. We are responsible for maintaining the Data Governance Framework throughout the Financial Markets (FM) domain (Asset Management, Finance, Risk and IT). We support the key data governance bodies being the DG Board (chaired by AM COO) and the Data Quality Working Group (chaired by the DGT). In addition, we are also responsible for creation of Data Standards, definition and monitoring of the Golden Copy Sources and maintenance of AM Dictionary.

Furthermore, we manage various tools and applications via multi functional Change Advisory Boards (CABs). We are actively involved in IT and process improvements with the goal to continuously improve data quality for the FM domain. We work closely with various partners including the Data Integrity, the Data Management and the AM IT Team.

Your main responsibilities would be to:
Support the Head of Data Governance on various priorities, topics and initiatives
Support the Data Quality Working Group and the Data Governance Board
Build key data indicators to monitor data quality
Streamline and simplify data quality processes and optimize number of data attributes and reports
Maintain high quality of AM data within the Swiss Re Dictionary (SRD)
Implement processes to prioritise and resolve data quality issues
Manage and deliver data governance related projects focusing on constant improvement of data quality and efficiency
Embed and monitor data governance principles within the financial assets community, keeping track of breaches and execute escalation if necessary
Create required data governance standards and oversee their implementation
Ensure quality standards & metrics are available for key data attributes and processes

You will interact with various partners in different locations, internal and external of Swiss Re. If needed, the position holder will take up a coordination role among the stakeholders to assure a successful completion of the tasks.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

You have a degree in a relevant subject area with 3 – 7 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry
Demonstrable knowledge of a broad range of financial market products, processes and IT understanding
Track record in data management / operations
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Strong organizational and team management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and customer orientation
Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong relationship builder - ability to influence in a complex, cross-functional environment
Ability to work under stress and high level of flexibility
Proactive and able to work independently as well as within a global team
Diligent and accurate working style
Ability to learn, openness and flexibility to take on new tasks and challenges
