About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a small, dynamic team. You will have the chance to gain a broad insight into a wide range of risk management activities.
Primarily, you will focus on operational risk management across our EMEA entities. Our team provides expert opinion on business proposals and ongoing operational activities. You will support the identification of key risks and their adequate reflection, and ensure that reasonable risk mitigations are implemented. Reviewing the quality of risk and incident reporting, tracking progress, sharing relevant reports and driving ongoing improvement will be part of your job.

You will be responsible for leading the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process. This includes planning, coordinating, tracking and writing ORSA reports in collaboration with the expert teams as well as continuously improving our processes. You will also contribute to other reporting processes such as the Solvency Financial Condition Report (SFCR) and our regular Risk Report to the legal entity's Board of Directors.
As part of our partner review and due diligence responsibilities, you will review partners and deals as well as product proposals to support Risk Management's signature. Your contribution and risk advice will promote a culture of risk awareness across all teams.

• Development of ORSA scenarios together with the expert teams
• Governance reporting und Solvency II, including risk policy maintenance and alignment with Solvency II requirements.
• Contribution to the maintenance of a comprehensive risk management framework

Our risk function has a business oversight and servicing role. We are responsible for setting out the conditions under which the Company is willing to take risk, its risk tolerance and its risk management principles. We make sure that our entities' Boards and Senior Management are aware and understand the risk exposures, risk landscape and the functioning of the risk governance framework.
You will be reporting to the Chief Risk Officer iptiQ EMEA L&H. Our team within Life Capital Risk Management is small and dynamic, our job is evolving with the growing business, the risk landscape on changing, and new ideas and client requirements guide the way forward.

Basic wage component (gross) and other rewards

Minimum base salary for this job from 1500 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits. *

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• You are passionate about working in the fast-paced environment of a young insurance company committed to the digitalization of insurance business
• You are an independent and critical thinker, willing to challenge constructively, with a can-do-attitude, curious and keen to learn.
• You have 2-3 years of experience in operational risk management in a Financial institution with solid general knowledge/experience in Risk Management
• Ideally you have participated in due diligence activities for Financial institutions before
• You have an understanding of business processes in Primary Insurance Business (life and non-life) and are keen to address the challenges and opportunities around digitalization
• You bring excellent delivery skills; assume responsibility for your own products and manage timelines adequately and independently
• You are Comfortable working in an area that is fluid and dynamic and able to handle multiple deliverables and ambiguity
• You are an analytical person, embrace change and you are eager to learn
• You are a strong communicator and have the ability to seamlessly interact with colleagues across teams in Risk Management and all other functions, across locations in EMEA and on all levels, including senior business leaders
• You are a great teammate, collaborative, willing to share knowledge and experience
• You would be willing to travel once in a while (within EMEA)
• Your English is excellent, other European languages are helpful
