About the Team

The Finance Accounting & Reporting iptiQ team in Bratislava is responsible for the quarterly financial closing for US GAAP, EVM and our statutory valuations for our legal entities.
In addition, the team also contributes to the financial planning and analysis of the entities, providing quality management information for reporting and decision making, both historic and forward-looking projections. We also contribute to a number of development projects.

About the role

This is an opportunity for you to join a team in the early stages of its development. We are looking for a hardworking individual, who can bring knowledge and an enthusiastic 'can do' attitude to our team. The iptiQ Division, through its Operating Entities provide access to attractive and growing primary risk pools.
We are now recruiting a Finance Specialist with an accounting background, passionate about being involved in the growing business unit.
This role will require you to embed your accounting and reporting knowhow into our legal entity reporting team. You will also develop your understanding of different valuation principles (US GAAP/ EVM) and respective internal and external reporting requirements.
Together with your team-mates, your responsibilities will be to support the preparation and reporting of the quarterly financial statements in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP valuation principles.

Main tasks
Journals/ledger:

- Prepare and post all manual journals for income statement and balance sheet including but not limited to bank, intercompany, accruals and expenses
- Prepare the manual payments for review and approval by the appropriate signatories
- Prepare reconciliations including intercompany confirmations and investigate any queries that emerge as a result
- Support the monthly cost filing process and submissions and ensure reconciled and interact with business partner on accruals and expense adjustments required

Tax returns and reporting requirements

- Support the quarterly Value Added Tax and annual tax return submission process by preparing accounting information and supplying the required information, including detailed granular data

Financial statements & reporting

- Support the preparation of the statutory annual report and completion of audit with external auditors, which requires close communication and interaction with the external auditors and providing the necessary supporting documents and underlying accounting schedules
- Prepare the quarterly reporting submissions for Swiss Re Group reporting
- Support in preparing of the monthly management information and analytical reviews with iptiQ finance
- Support on preparing of financial plan to your partners and colleagues

Processes & systems

- You will need to make sure that the ledger is appropriately maintained to fully satisfy the business needs
- Follow controls and raise issues and risks that are identified through approved routes and support the resolution of these
- Maintain and develop meaningful relationships within iptiQ and Swiss Re

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

Job requirements
Knowledge:

- Accounting and Reporting systems including data entry, journal preparation, monthly reconciliations and the extraction of reports.
- Understanding and production of Income statement and Balance sheets
- Ability to work within an appropriate control environment

Skills:

- Communicate effectively at all levels, including written and oral presentation, engaging partners as appropriate
- Demonstrate good organisational skills, with an analytical and structured approach to work
- Work well in a team or independently and involving others appropriately in the business
- Computer-literate with excel and operating systems knowledge

Experience:

- Accounting knowledge through a relevant qualification.
- Experience in a finance department.
- Experience in producing management reports
