Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Payments and Receipts section consists of 3 teams – two Payments teams and one Treasury support team. Payments teams is a group of young individuals working daily on processing incoming and outgoing payments for a number of Swiss Re locations in Europe, Asia and Australia. They often communicate with banks via Swift. They are precise, as they know they work with real money transfers, often sensitive and huge payment orders.

Another aspect of our work is involvement in both global and team projects and initiatives. We will inspire you to bring and develop new ideas and solutions and therefore have a chance to influence how things are going to be completed in future. Let us walk you through your future day at work:
•You will be responsible for leading a team of 10 people handling EMEA locations and ensuring timely and accurate handling of payments on behalf of these locations
•During first months you will gain an overview of the company culture and managerial tools and know-how from your manager and peers and overview of the process, systems and locations from your direct employees what will support your smooth onboarding
•Developing people, talents and do the succession planning within your team to ensure deputation and identification of key talents
•Close collaboration with other Payments Team leader in process, people, system related topics
•You will certainly like liaising with local offices to make sure all invoices are properly paid and posted on time
•Interesting part of your work will certainly be the communication with bank, investigation on various topics
•Coaching, assigning and monitoring of the work to team members will represent remarkable portion of your time
•You will be responsible for ensuring operational stability, keeping deadlines (reconciliation, closing, timeliness of payments) and participation in global projects if needed
•Delivering on set targets and support team with queries and questions will be expected from you as a team leader
•Keep a good relationship with other Swiss Re departments and represent team on various occasions (workshop, cross-functional and cross-location meetings)

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

Microsoft Excel - Advanced
Microsoft Word - Advanced

Personality requirements and skills

•You have University degree in the area of finance, banking, accounting or economics with relevant working experience at least 4 years on a managerial position (Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader)
•You have abilities to lead and develop team of 7-8 people and are strongly focused on performance and targets
•You speak English fluently. We consider it as advantage if you speak any other European language. You have strong communication and presentation skills
•You have advanced MS Office knowledge (e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point) and are a logical thinker not afraid to challenge the status quo
