About the role
Reinsurance Cost Management team support and drive the direct and full cost planning, reporting and projection processes within Reinsurance in close cooperation with the cost centre heads, Divisional Operations Officers and Division Heads as well as RE CFO and COO.
Standard tasks include aggregation, structuring, analysis and commenting of cost data. Building on that, the role includes the constructive challenging of cost budgeting and cost management with Reinsurance Divisions as well as close partnering with the counterparts on a Group level. RE Cost Management team provides both standard and ad-hoc cost analyses and presentations for the management at BU Reinsurance as well as at Divisions level.
As Cost Analyst, the successful candidate has opportunity to assist in the consolidation of the Divisional reporting and analysis at a BU Reinsurance level, but also to be responsible one of RE Division and act as Divisional Cost Partner.
Besides consolidation of the divisional reporting and analyses at a BU reinsurance level, s/he will be asked to assist in Strategic Initiative analysis, journal entry processing, reporting and control. They will be required for specific tasks such as T&E reporting and top spender analysis. Ad hoc reporting and analysis is also a component of this role. As required, s/he may support projects and be required to analyse and assist in new reporting and analysis.
As Divisional Cost Partner, the successful candidate is expected to ensure end-to-end alignment with regards to the usage of data originating from the cost management processes for the Division which he/she is covering. Analysis will require not only direct costs of the divisions he/she is covering, but full costs as well and ensuring proper control and allocation of indirect costs. This role will interact with DOOs, department heads and strategic initiative owners and thus, ability to interact with senior managers across functions is a component of this role.
Key Accountabilities:
•Support annual direct and full cost planning and alignment processes
•Provide monthly direct cost actuals reports, run quarterly direct cost projection processes
•Provide services to internal customers (ad-hoc analyses, presentations, stakeholder consulting in cost planning and management)
•Manage and align cost relevant Master Data with a view to continuous optimization of processes and providing relevant information to support managerial decision-making
•Perform value added analysis to enhance transparency and to create productivity
•Become an expert in the multiple systems being leveraged for cost transparency
