Are you interested in a more complex accounting role?

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to contribute to developing this new business activity and be part of our success story.
As a member of our team, you will support the financial reporting and analysis of the company's business activities, mainly on statutory (Luxembourg GAAP), Group (US GAAP), and regulatory valuations.

In this role, you will support the following processes for the new insurance carrier:
1) Execution of reporting process:
• Quarterly US GAAP closing and reporting tasks for Group reporting purposes,
• Quarterly and annual regulatory reporting requirements and
• Quarterly management accounts and annual accounts in accordance with Luxembourg GAAP (fairly close to IFRS).
2) Ensure that we execute on high-quality, robust processes for all reporting deliverables, in line with existing Swiss Re processes and deliverables for our already well-established carriers.
3) Provide comprehensive financial variance analysis and business commentaries in the course of reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities.
4) Support audit activities and prepare requested information in connection with internal audit, external audit and other external parties, like regulators or other governmental institutions.
5) Contribute to improvement of processes and systems to ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements, and to meet internal management expectations.
6) Establish a network and closely collaborate with the respective professionals across the organization. The position acts with a high degree of autonomy and discretion within the delegated authority.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Qualified and certified accountant or equivalent education (BA, MA) with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a group accounting and reporting environment or in an audit function.
• Strong accounting knowledge of IFRS reporting standards, ideally complemented by experience in US GAAP.
• Experience in financial reporting focused on timely delivery and high quality of output.
• Knowledge and experience in the preparation of complex financial statements, ideally in the financial industry.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Power Point Knowledge of SAP would be a plus.
• Excellent command of the English language.
