Job description, responsibilities and duties
Job Purpose:
The position holder is responsible for all of the professional and administrative leadership of the Bratislava investment accounting team consisting of investment accounting and reporting professionals. This includes interactions with key stakeholders, service providers, and global partners.
Key Accountabilities:
•Reporting and financial control of the invested assets of a large number of entities within the Swiss Re group
•Oversee all reporting areas within Global Investment Accounting (GIA) Bratislava including US GAAP, SII, local statutory rules, EVM (Swiss Re economic valuation method)
•Ensure compliance with relevant accounting policies
•Monitor the investment figures and ensure timely and accurate delivery by all GIA personnel
•Ensure the global alignment of all investment under the reporting scope
•Responsible for efficient resource planning and development and ensure that cost targets are achieved.
•Develop and retain the talent within the team to maintain a high performing team
•Ensure the organization and deputation of all positions within GIA Bratislava and availability of a pipeline of future leaders
•Ensure that there is an effective internal control environment in place that complies with best practice principles and adheres to a proper monitoring framework
•Ensure that all procedures are properly documented and updated in a timely fashion
•Continue to improve the alignment of Global Investment Accounting processes
•Represent GIA in projects and initiatives in Bratislava in close collaboration with the Head Finance Reinsurance Bratislava Hub
•Advice senior management with interpretation and analysis of key investment figures
•Anticipate issues and develop appropriate and timely solutions independently .Provides decision relevant input
•Manage senior stakeholders at all levels and communicates effectively with stakeholders and partners to ensure common goals and expectations
•Actively drives projects and additional tasks relevant to the Accounting and Reporting function and engage in challenges related to the position
•Assumes responsibility for issues across department
Key Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Responsibilities:
•10+ years in Finance, Accounting or Audit with respective Accounting Qualification or CPA
•Significant experience in accounting and reporting with focus on investments or banking industry
•Proven leadership experience in managing international team(s)
•Strategic mindset with good communication skills at all levels
•Ability to drive initiatives and contribute to strategic projects effectively
•Ability to influence in a complex, cross-functional and multi-location environment
•Fluent in English (written and spoken)
