About the Role

You will join the IT Controlling Operations team which supports the financial management of all IT functions in Swiss Re. Together we play a meaningful role in achieving the financial targets of the entire Division.
You will work closely with cost center owners and many partners from finance related functions, you will undertake analyses and do standard and ad hoc reporting. You will support the cost management by handling the financials of various teams. This includes the end-to-end involvement in the process, starting with the planning of a budget with the cost center owner, set up purchase orders, handle invoices, control the cost versus budget, do accruals, report back to the budget owners, keep the planning up to date and make forecasts. You are the first point of contact for questions regarding the budget and cost.
Next to these budgeting and controlling tasks you will also be involved in the development of the IT Business Management (ITBM) tool suite through testing of new features, training and knowledge sharing with others. You will also sometimes participate in other projects or prepare PowerPoint presentations for higher management.

Main responsibilities
• Financial planning, analysis and reporting
• Support the implementation and qualitative improvement of the forecasting which is based on the strategic planning
• Develop forecasting scenarios
• Support the transformation of strategic planning into business cases for the management of the business areas, projects and individual measures
• Support the procurement process including creation of purchase orders, controlling of invoices and budget positions
• Derivation of important metrics to support the management of the financial plan
• Develop relationship with our clients and be the liaison between ITBM and other finance related areas like Payables, Sourcing Support and local accounting teams
• Support actively the further development of the ITBM tool suite

About the Team

The IT Controlling Operations team consists of 6 colleagues including yourself, is located in Bratislava and is an integral part of the IT BM unit of 22 colleagues based in Bratislava, Zurich, US and UK. The Division IT in total has 1'200 colleagues located worldwide. Due to the expansion of the scope of the team, we are looking for an additional colleague to join us.

Basic wage component (gross) and other rewards

Minimum base salary for this job from 1700 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits.*

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

• University degree, preferably in a finance related field
• At least 2-3 years of professional experience in a controlling or other analytical area
• Familiar with accounting terminology
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office programs
• Strong analytical skills
• A great teammate with good interpersonal skills
• Interest in or affinity with the IT business
• Eagerness for innovation and efficiency
