Then you might be the right person we are looking for

The FP&A Group Operations team is the port of call for financial matters to the Group Operations organization. The team is part of the Finance Group Operations unit which is a unit directly reporting to the Group CFO and Group COO of Swiss Re Group.

You will be responsible for the cost management by handling the financials of various teams within the program. This includes the end-to-end involvement in the process, starting with the planning of a budget with the budget owners, set up purchase orders, handle invoices, control the cost versus budget, do accruals, report back, keep the planning up to date and make forecasts. You are the first point of contact for questions regarding the budget and costs.

This position requires an expert controller with a good functional overview of a large operation and some years in a comparable function in a multi-cultural environment. Interaction with senior Stakeholders on financial matters and therefore good communication skills are also required.

Main responsibilities
• Management of financial planning and controlling activities
• Resources (staff) planning and controlling
• Support the procurement process with regards to the creation of purchase orders, controlling of cost and budget positions
• Maintain and improve an efficient, accurate and at the same time flexible controlling and planning framework
• Analyses and reporting on financials, staffing, ensuring management has the relevant information at their fingertips to steer and run their projects within the overall program
• Be the liaison with other finance related areas like Finance Group Operations, Payables, Sourcing Support, Procurement and local accounting teams

About the Team
Including the Unit Head, we are a team of total 8 colleagues based in Zurich and Bratislava. We are part of Finance Group Operations, which in total has 180 professionals.
Our goal is to be the first point of contact for the divisions for any finance related matter and to ensure alignment of top-down targets with bottom-up needs, in close cooperation with the Division Heads, Divisional Executive Offices and Cost representatives such as Department and Cost Centre Heads.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• You have a confirmed track-record in financial planning and controlling or financial business partner function.
• Knowledge of procurement, cost management and financial project management processes
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office programs
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive attitude and continuously seeking to improve the status quo

Job requirements (education, linguistic ability, professional experience, leadership qualities, soft skills)
• University degree or diploma in controlling/finance or equivalent
• Several years' experience in related field
• Self-motivated, proactive and client focused mentality
• Strong conceptual capabilities
• Excellence in MS Excel/ MS PowerPoint (and preferably in Think-cell)
• Ability to work independently and make decisions/priorities in the face of complexity, conflicting pressures and ambiguous circumstances
• Above average financial acumen
• Attention to detail and accuracy in delivery
• Stature and confidence to interact at Senior Management level
• Fluency in English
• Excellent social skills (communication, leadership, persuasiveness, team orientation)
• Strong influencing, interpersonal and intercultural skills
• Functional knowledge of Swiss Re business and departments
• Able to deliver high quality also under pressure
• Strong team member with a "can do" mentality
