Job description, responsibilities and duties

You will join the unit responsible for running group submission and reporting on IT side. Our team consists of business analysts and application engineers located in Bratislava and Zurich.

You will conduct business analysis and support operations within the field of financial closing for the Swiss Re Group. The focus will be on the requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing and rollout of new or enhanced functionalities. You will be involved in all steps of the software development process and individually work on assigned tasks in close cooperation with your peers. You will also support regular change management process and configure systems accordingly as well as provide support and on call duties for end users during closing periods.

Finally, you will also contribute to a major transformation project whose goal is to migrate the existing application landscape to a cloud native solution.

Your job will include:
- Business support and production control
- Maintain and perform user support
- Monitor systems and conduct performance improvements
- Error handling which includes analysis, solution proposals and correction processes
- Ensure systems are available during the quarterly closings
- Communicate with an international user community and decision makers

Business analysis of new requirements for new IT implementations and change request for existing IT-solutions:
- Gather and analyse the requirements for the new solution in close cooperation with business experts and application engineers
- Translate requirements into system specifications, covering all aspects of the new solution (functional/non-functional requirements, process and/or data models, …)
- Work closely with the application engineers in the implementation phase and ensure correct understanding and implementation of business requirements
- Perform and document system tests
- Document the solution, both for internal and external use (user manual)
- Independently manage assigned sub-projects in the above-mentioned fields
- Perform system testing in regular UAT cycles

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- University degree in business administration with specialization in information technology or equivalent.
- Experience in business analysis is a must.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of data structures and their relationships.
- Proficient command of English. Knowledge of German is a plus.
- Flexible and open for new tasks, willing to learn continuously.
- Excellent team player having a proactive approach and a 'can do' attitude.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office.
- Knowledge of SQL is a very strong asset.
- Knowledge of Python or VBA or R is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of business intelligence applications (Tableau, QlikView, Power BI or similar) is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of Jira and Confluence would be an asset.
- Experience in insurance/reinsurance would be an asset.
- Previous knowledge in technical or financial accounting would be an asset.
- Very good communication skills.
- Self-starter, independent and responsive in character and work.
