We are looking for team member to join as an Analyst in the Standards team (within Accounting & Reporting Office, Reinsurance Finance). The Accounting & Reporting Office team is responsible for assessing and developing financial reporting processes and risk mitigation for Reinsurance Finance.

The Opportunity

As a team member, you will assist in defining and communicating standards for financial reporting across Reinsurance Finance. Our mandate is to drive consistency processes while ensuring transparency in decision-making.

As the Standards team, we work towards crafting practical solutions to finance issues. You will be a key driver in solving these finance issues. At a high level, your responsibilities would help drive consistency in finance reporting processes, achieving a standard approach across finance teams in multiple areas. As a team, we strive to: drive development and implementation of the target operating model for US GAAP and EVM (i.e. Swiss Re internal economic valuation); work on alignment of current processes with external reporting requirements; assist in refining and implementing methodology and/or system changes, and work closely with Group Finance on initiatives affecting Finance Reinsurance.
Tasks may be completed either independently or with support from fellow Standards team members depending on the scope and requirements of each.

As a Standards Analyst, you will be a member of a small team responsible for:
•Driving the standardization of finance reporting closing processes within Finance Reinsurance
•Collaborating with fellow finance team members to deliver a consistent approach. This includes but is not limited to: Regional and Business Management teams, ATLAS work stream leaders, Reinsurance Reporting
•Supporting the central and divisional Financial Planning and Analysis teams to define performance measurements and report consistently across the Reinsurance organization
•Supporting the organization, management and leadership of the Reinsurance Finance Standards Committee (a finance standard setting platform)

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

Education and experience
•University graduate with primary or higher degree (or equivalent), ideally in Finance or Economics
•Experience in financial controlling or reporting, risk management or related areas (3 years)
•Deep understanding of financial reporting and business processes
•Familiarity with US GAAP principles and reporting processes desirable

Personal skills
•Fluency in English (both spoken and written)
•Standout colleague with strong communication, social and analytical skills
•Desire to build up knowledge spanning various disciplines
•Strong analytical skills applicable to both conceptual and practical issues
•Deep understanding of reinsurance
•Process management skills
•Strong time management and independent working skills; ability to handle multiple priorities
