About the Role

The Digital Strategy unit will be responsible for but not limited to

Digital Strategy Process
- Articulating the 'Digital North Star' vision for Swiss
- Providing framework and moderating strategic dialogue across Swiss Re, identifying synergies and highlighting opportunities to advance the digital strategy agenda
- Driving the digital strategy process across the Group
- Operationalise the digital vision into a roadmap for Swiss Re, setting annual milestones in implementation of the strategy
- Proactively challenging digital ambitions and strategies with internal stakeholders while ensuring accountability within the business units and group functions

External Digital Insights
- Capability for scanning external market for key trends and identify relevant market developments, identify pockets of innovation and peer moves to support investment to advance Swiss Res digital capability
- Consolidate findings and external perspectives to inform strategic decisions at Swiss Re
- Steer and shape the digital strategies of the business units through external insights and perspectives

Digital Talent Strategy
- Leverage external digital insights to monitor external human capital landscape including scouting for skill set or talent profile developments in the market
- Support Group HR to translate human capital landscape into digital talent strategy
- Challenge targets of business units and group functions regarding future talent, training and development needs

About the Team

As part of Swiss Re's newly developed Division Group Digital Transformation, the Digital Strategy unit will set the ‘Digital North Star’ vision for Swiss Re to steer and evolve the company into a future-ready digital-driven company.

As Head of Digital Strategy, you and your team will collate and formulate the Group-wide digital strategy and roadmap that unites and enables the Swiss Re digital strategy and ambition. You will be responsible to connect the dots across the Group by partnering with Business Units/Group Functions to help them shape their digital ambitions relating to existing and new business models. You will also be responsible to provide strategic guardrails for innovation portfolio steering as well as establish the link to Data, Tech and People strategy as well as Research & Development.
Through its External Digital Insights capability, the Digital Strategy unit will further ensure oversight of key digital trends and strategic market moves as well as inform the digital talent strategy.

The Digital Strategy team will be responsible to drive the strategic dialogue across Swiss Re and with senior stakeholders, therefore the team will have substantial expertise in insurance and tech as well as strong entrepreneurial acumen. The team will have subject matter expertise in Insurance and tech monitoring trends with strong analytical skills and understanding of innovation and technology landscape within and beyond Swiss Re.
