Job description, responsibilities and duties

A great opportunity to join our growing regional EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) medical team. You will get to work with the wider experienced global team of medical doctors at Swiss Re, to provide input into individual health risk assessment, claims cases, general risk management and product development. You will also contribute to work on underwriting strategy, get involved with research work on evidence based ratings and be part of groundbreaking life and health R&D projects and topics. There will initially be a supportive and stimulating training period if you are totally new to life insurance and insurance medicine. You will eventually also have the opportunity to do industry presentations and client training in various exciting markets as experience in the role grows.

Swiss Re employs a number of doctors around the world, primarily in 3 broad regions – Asia, the Americas and EMEA. We support many of the key life and health functions at Swiss Re including claims, underwriting, product development, pricing and client markets. We help to showcase Swiss Re's medical expertise and research key medical changes and advancements and interpret how these can alter our risk portfolios.

Our underwriting manual is the best in the industry and the medical underwriting guidelines drive much of this. You will help us keep the number 1 spot.

Our vision is to make the world more resilient and in this role you will be a part of making that a reality.
