iptiQ EMEA is an operating entity within the Life Capital BU created 1 Jan 2016 to drive Swiss Re's direct to consumer propositions.

About the team

The team have numerous responsibilities as you would expect; day-to-day operational finance activities as well as accounting, reporting, analytics and commentaries according to accounting policies for Group, Local Branch & Entities, valuation principles for the Life and Holdings companies where relevant.

About the role

You will be one of six people reporting to the Policy Accounting and Control Manager. Together with your team-mates, your responsibilities will relate to the provision of the technical accounting process and assist with controlling the collation of other reporting teams into the trial balance. You will assist in all technical accounting processes to produce accurate and complete trial balances at a Legal Entity, and Branch level in the various reporting GAAPs for the iptiQ Life SA and iptiQ Holdings Ltd Legal entities.

You will also play a role, liaising with External Third-Party Administrators (TPA), to ensure Finance has the appropriate oversight and controls in place to ensure Policy Holder Data is correctly calculated and booked correctly in our ledger.

Further, you follow and develop processes effectively to ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements across all valuations.

Main tasks/activities:
- Support the team in oversee, and liaise the Third-Party Policy Administrator finance and accounting activity, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness of incoming data
. Assist team in performing quality and consistency checks on deliverables and outputs
- Support comprehensive analysis and business commentaries with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to the management requirements
- Assist preparation of timely and accurate data for internal and external reporting
- Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
- Contribute and support Finance related projects as requested, including new deals
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as required

- Two or more years of work experience in the financial services industry
- University degree in Economics, Science, Accounting or Business Administration
- Proven history of knowledge regarding statutory accounting policies and regulatory framework
- Excellent analytical skills with holistic financial thinking
- Strong communication skills - ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise fashion
- Proven PC skills, including Word and Excel
- Team player with good communication skills
- Engaging and motivating
- Excellent command of the English language and German or French or Italian or Dutch or Spanish as a plus
