This is an opportunity for you to join our Settlements team whose purpose is to handle trades executed by our internal portfolio managers and ensure they are confirmed and settled accurately and on time. You will confirm the trades with counter-parties and brokers, monitoring until their successful settlement and resolving issues or discrepancies. We are handling around 400 transactions daily in different products and currencies. We have direct exposure to the market and get involved in different projects and initiatives following business strategy, regulatory requirements and changes.

The Asset Management (AM) function manages the assets that Swiss Re generates through its core insurance and reinsurance businesses. We do so using a robust asset-liability management process. In addition to matching assets and liabilities, the team optimizes risk-adjusted investment returns within defined risk limits. Our clients are the Business Units, Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions and Life Capital. Their portfolios are handled individually according to their needs and objectives. AM Business Services provides an efficient operating platform capable of supporting all financial market activities conducted by Swiss Re.

Key Responsibilities
• You will have full control and supervision of daily tasks and flows related to confirmation and settlement of fixed income and equity trades, including corporate actions
• You will manage resolution of complex queries from our partners
• You will communicate with internal and external partners to address queries
• You will be responsibility for implementation of new regulatory requirements and market changes
• You will actively participate in functional and cross-functional projects, suggesting improvements and simplification of tasks and processes
• You will provide input for development and improvement of internal control framework together with Operational Risk Management
• You will mentor colleagues through training and operations

We are open to have this position filled as full-time/ 80% part-time or as two 50% part-time roles.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

Excellent knowledge of products, markets and investment operations
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle numerous priorities at a time and meet deadlines while de-

• Fluent English, you have no problem to write emails and have a call via Skype. We consider as your advantage if you speak any other European language
• Positive personality towards changing environment and knowledge sharing, ability to develop the same in other team members
• Willingness to learn, flexibility to take on new tasks and challenges
• Strong teammate

Preferred:
• University degree (Master or equivalent), preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or another related degree
• Previous related work experience is an advantage
• Proficient with MS Office applications including Excel, Word and Power Point Access
