Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
This role will be to perform the financial controlling function with the responsibility for looking after the end to end reporting for the two Life Capital holding companies. This will include performing reviews and supervision of the reporting and ledger management. This will also include the accurate production and analysis of the SRLC Ltd and SRLCM Ltd monthly, quarterly and Statutory annual reporting. This role is the supervisor to the SRLC reporting accountant.
The reporting process is undergoing continued development and the role is actively involved in the integration of new systems and processes and improvements to existing practices.
Main tasks
Journals/ledger
• As the reporting senior, you will have full ownership and oversight of the reported income statement and balance sheet including responsibility for reviewing and approving all submitted manual journals and reviewing reconciliations and you will investigate any queries that emerge
• You will perform the monthly review of cost filings and submissions and ensure fully reconciled as part of the Group reporting requirements
• Support and respond to queries from various counterparts in the Group enabling the fulfilment of reporting requirements of other team's eg Payroll analysis, intercompany confirmation, bonus accruals
• Initiate and prepare payment requests
Tax returns and reporting requirements
Support the quarterly Value Added Tax and annual tax return submission process by preparing accounting information and providing the necessary supporting documents, including detailed granularity for submission of respective returns
Financial documents & reporting
• Monthly management information preparation and analytical reviews with Life Capital finance
• Review of quarterly reporting package, and preparing the projection for the full year results for submission
• Preparation of the statutory annual report and completion of audit, requires close communication and interaction with the external auditors
Dividend and capital planning
Support on dividend approval and payment activities, prepare and submit the quarterly capital planning requirements, and complete the required Board documents for approval and audit review where applicable
Processes and systems
• You will need to make sure that the ledger is appropriately maintained to fully satisfy the business needs
• To maintain procedure notes and controls and raise issues and risks that are identified through approved routes and support the resolution of these
• Maintain and develop meaningful relationships within Life Capital and Swiss Re
