The Cost Controlling Corporate Functions team is the port of call for financial information to the Group Operations and Group Functions organization. The team is part of the Finance Group Operations/Corporate Centre unit which is a unit directly reporting to the Group CFO and Group COO of Swiss Re Group, with the CFO Group Operations/Corporate Centre and various of his direct reports being based in Bratislava, allowing for ample career opportunities within the unit.

Are you an experienced professional who loves working in a demanding environment and enjoys navigating the contrast between ad-hoc delivery and standard processes/ reporting?
You will work with the controller team supporting them on aggregating, structuring, and analyzing the cost data. You will report to the Head Cost Controlling Corporate Functions and directly interact with the CFO Group Operations/Corporate Center and other senior partners within Swiss Re. As part of the role, you will provide both standard and ad-hoc analyses and presentations. Furthermore, you will support the maintenance of the cost infrastructure and tools that are used by the controller.
You will ensure an end-to-end alignment concerning the usage of data originating from the cost management processes (key counterparties include the Service Cost Accounting Community, Performance Mgmt Operations, Group Cost Management and Business unit controlling). This will include oversight of the cost distribution and monthly cost metrics' reporting process within the Corporate Functions and thereby close interaction with the cost controllers and content owners/cost center heads of each division.

This position requires a good functional overview of a large operation; experience in a comparable function in a multi-cultural environment would be a plus

About the team
Including the Unit Head, we are a team of total 8 colleagues based in Zurich and Bratislava. We are part of Finance Group Operations, which in total has 140 professionals.
Our main goal is to be the central point of contact for the divisions on any cost related topicwhere we ensure close collaboration with the Division Heads, Divisional Executive Offices and Cost representatives such as Department and Cost Centre Heads.

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

•Experience in controlling/finance or equivalent
•Self-motivated, proactive and client focused mentality
•Excellent in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint and preferably in Think-cell
•Ability to work independently and make decisions/priorities
•Above average financial acumen
•Attention to detail and accuracy in delivery
•Stature and confidence to interact at Senior Management level
•Fluency in English
•Excellent social skills (communication, persuasiveness, team orientation)
•Strong influencing, interpersonal and intercultural skills
•Functional knowledge of Swiss Re business and departments
•Able to deliver high quality also under pressure
•Strong team member with a "can do" mentality
