Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

•Provide technically correct claims management decisions within authority while applying the appropriate balance of service and risk management.
•Manage a portfolio of new and existing claims in accordance with Swiss Re’s claims philosophy, the Treaty, policy terms and agreed service standards.
•Support the day-to-day delivery of the claims value chain to clients in EMEA, communicating clearly with clients and enhancing relationships.
•Proactively use internal resources, with appropriate referrals e.g. CMOs, Underwriting, Pricing, Legal, Clinical.
•Help to monitor the claims portfolio, liaising with and supporting Business Management and other L&H colleagues in the active and cost-effective management of the business.
•Record and maintain accurate claims data on Swiss Re systems, and contribute to business reporting.
•Contribute effectively to business project and initiatives, and to value-add activities such as the preparation of seminars and training, and audits.
•Enhance our operational excellence and comply with risk management guidelines and practices.

University student
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) and Dutch - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

Microsoft Excel - advanced
Microsoft Word - advanced

Personality requirements and skills

•Fluent in English and Dutch
•Basic medical, occupation, avocation and financial technical knowledge relevant to claims assessment
•Basic understanding of insurance products and reinsurance
•Proven record of delivering high quality service to clients
•Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
•Good numerical and analytical skills
•Effective personal organisation skills
•Strong team player; sensitive to cultural differences; enthusiastic;
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Good knowledge of MS Office tools and ability to learn new applications
