Job description, responsibilities and duties

As Pricing Actuary, you will be responsible to price deals, develop and update pricing models and tools and act as consultant to the underwriting and sales units on technical risk quantification and pricing topics.

Main responsibilities
Pricing, Modelling and Data Analytics
•Model and price deal transactions.
•Run portfolio analysis and develop management reports.
•Development and maintenance of costing parameters and tools in accordance to Swiss Re Group standards and business needs.
•Collect, collate and analyse data required for costing model and parameter update studies.
•Provide training on technical topics and tool usage.
•Participate in global projects when needed.

About the team:
You will be part of Actuarial Services Corporate Solutions (ASCS) Global Specialties, EMEA and APAC and will work with colleagues in various functions and locations in supporting deal pricing and the development and refinement of our costing framework. We are a global team and our members are of diverse nationality and educational background and have strong affinity to working in a dynamic, collaborative and learning environment.

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• At least 2 years experience in (re)insurance pricing and rating model and tool development.
• Working experience in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment.
• Experienced in working in cross team projects.
• Have deep understanding of actuarial models, business processes, can evaluate accuracy and uncertainty in models.
• Able to review analytical results, derive recommendations and communicate implications to all partners.
• Able to challenge and defend assumptions, methods and conclusions.
• Programming skills will be an advantage.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multi-cultural environment.
• You work for the collective success of the team, take own initiative, are open and dependable; and demonstrate collaboration and intercultural competence.
• You demonstrate ability to set and run the right priorities; and execute on plans and are committed to achieving high quality results on time.
• Strong client orientation.
• Actuarial qualifications or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics or equivalent quantitative/statistical fields.
• Excellent command of the English language. German/French/Italian would be a plus.
