This is a rare opportunity for you to join and help shape a new team in the early stages of its development. Are you passionate about helping to build a new, complete, Finance team in Bratislava?

IptiQ is putting in a new financial system this year. We will look to you as a key member of the specially created project team. With the training, knowledge and support provided, you will help create and drive through solutions that link Finance's insurance sub ledger to the Oracle system. Once implemented, as well as other Policy Accounting & Control activities you will continue to own the system processes which you and the wider team will use in future.

You will be one of five people reporting to the Policy Accounting and Control Manager, but with initial project and implementation responsibilities to help build and own the processes the team will use. Together with your team-mates, your responsibilities will relate to the provision of the technical accounting process, and assist with controlling the collation of other reporting teams into the trial balance. The focus of your role initially implementing our systems, will make you a company subject matter expert which will be essential within the team as we continuously grow as a company and look to improve our technical accounting processes that produce accurate and complete trial balances at a Legal Entity, and Branch level in the various reporting GAAPs for the iptiQ Life SA and iptiQ Holdings Ltd Legal entities.

You will also play a key role, liaising with External Third Party Administrators (TPA), to ensure Finance has the appropriate oversight and controls in place to ensure Policy Holder Data is correctly calculated and booked correctly in our ledger. Day to day liaison with TPA's for financial discussions will sit with you, owning key external relationships for the Company.

Further, you will follow and develop processes effectively to ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements across all valuations.

About the team
iptiQ EMEA is continuing to grow and develop its new Finance Operations team in Bratislava. iptiQ EMEA is an operating entity within the Life Capital BU created 1 Jan 2016 to drive Swiss Re's direct to consumer propositions.

The team will have numerous responsibilities as you would expect; day-to-day operational finance activities as well as accounting, reporting, analytics and commentaries according to accounting policies for Group, Local Branch & Entities, Economic, and Solvency II valuation principles for the Life and Holdings companies where relevant. In addition to this the team are pivotal to delivering the new accounting system for the company this year.

Main tasks/activities:
1.Initially, join the Oracle project implementation team working with Finance and IT professionals using your analytical and problem solving skills to create efficient and controlled data feeds and processes.
2.Oversee the insurance sub ledger to Oracle processes, and directly liaise and manage the Third Party Policy Administrator finance and accounting activity, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness of incoming data
3.Deliver high levels of customer services in dealings with stakeholders for both the Life and Holding company entities across the relevant accounting valuations (US GAAP, Lux stat and IFRS)
4.Assist team in performing quality and consistency checks on deliverables and outputs
5.Support comprehensive analysis and business commentaries with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to the management requirements
6.Support the accurate calculation and booking of internal and external retrocession agreements
7.Assist preparation of timely and accurate data for internal and external reporting
8.Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
9.Contribute and support Finance related projects as requested, including new deals
10.Perform ad-hoc tasks as required

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

1. Five or more years of work experience in the financial services industry, two of which in the insurance sector
2. University degree in Economics, Science, Accounting or Business Administration
3. Qualification in Accounting and/or Audit desirable
4. Proven history of knowledge regarding statutory accounting policies and regulatory framework
5. Excellent analytical skills with holistic financial thinking
6. Strong communication skills - ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise fashion
7. Strong Evidence of managing external relationships and deliverables
8. Experience in USGAAP/IFRS desirable
9. Proven PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
10. Team player with good communication skills
11. Engaging and motivating
12. Excellent command of the English language and German/French as a plus
