About the Team
The SRLC Re Finance team is responsible for the quarterly financial closing for US GAAP, EVM and our statutory valuation for our legal entities. The core roles are the closing of the technical sub ledgers for all relevant valuations and the closing of the general ledgers.
In addition the team also contributes to the financial planning and analysis of the entities, providing quality management information for reporting and decision making, both historic and forward looking projections. We also contribute to a number of development projects.

SRLC Re is an internal reinsurer primarily dedicated to the Life Capital Business Unit. The Life Capital businesses provide access to attractive and growing primary risk pools.

We are now recruiting a Finance Specialist with an accounting background, passionate about being involved in the growing Life Capital business.
This role is an opportunity for you to embed your accounting and reporting knowhow into our legal entity reporting team. You will also develop your understanding of different valuation principles (Swiss Statutory / US GAAP) and respective internal and external reporting requirements.
Together with your team-mates, your responsibilities will be to support the preparation and reporting of the quarterly financial statements in accordance with Swiss Statutory and US GAAP valuation principles and for the legal entity regulatory reporting according to the requirements defined by our regulator (FINMA).
As part of this reporting support, you will perform the legal entity closing related bookings in the ledgers and reconciliation activities, to enable timely delivery of high quality financial information. You will assist in ensuring compliance with our risk and control framework as well as external audit requirements.

Main tasks:
- Support the end to end Swiss Statutory and US GAAP closing and reporting processes through calculation and booking of items in the ledgers and reconciliations of accounts
- Support the legal entity regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with FINMA requirements for the reinsurance entity
- Assist the team in performing quality and consistency checks on outputs
- Prepare timely and accurate data and support provision of comprehensive analysis for internal and external reporting
- Deliver high levels of customer service in dealings with our colleagues
- Help preparing quarterly reporting timetables
- Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
- Contribute and support Finance related projects
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as required

Personality requirements and skills

About You
- Five or more years of work experience in the financial services industry, two of which in the insurance sector
- University degree in Economics, Science, Accounting or Business Administration
- Qualification in Accounting and/or Audit desirable
- Proven history of knowledge regarding accounting principles
- Excellent analytical skills with holistic financial thinking
- Strong communication skills - ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise fashion
- Strong evidence of managing external relationships and deliverables
- Experience in USGAAP desirable. Previous Swiss Stat reporting experience not required.
- Proven PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Team player with good communication skills
- Engaging and motivating
- Excellent command of the English language
