Job description, responsibilities and duties

The team is involved in global projects dealing with the rollout of and enhancements to the financial applications architecture. You will support production but also work in projects. The project work will focus on the elaboration and description of business processes and specifications and the support of business testing and UATs. On the production side the main tasks will be to support the quarterly closing by setting up and reconciling the needed infrastructure like data marts and reports and to secure the daily data processing. You will be involved in all steps of a project and the production control and you will be assigned own sub-projects which you will manage independently.
In this role you will support a unit responsible for the maintenance, enhancement and rollout of our Group Retro Platform (GRP) for Property & Casualty and Life & Health business. This is the common platform that supports the financial and actuarial administration of Intra Group Retro cessions (IGRs) and some external retro cessions worldwide. You are willing to grow into an important role in the business analysis team for our Group Retro Platform. You will be part of a team that has members in Zurich, the UK and Bratislava with significant interaction with our clients from finance & IT worldwide.

Main Responsibilities:

Business analysis of new requirements for new IT implementations and change request for existing IT-solutions
• Gather, discuss and analyze the requirements for new functions or changes in close cooperation with business experts and IT
• Translate requirements into system specifications, covering all aspects of the new solution
• Work closely with the programmers in the realization phase and ensure correct understanding and implementation of business requirements
• Perform and document interface and application tests
• Document the solution, both for internal and external use
• Manage assigned sub-projects in above-mentioned fields independently

Business support and production control
• Support financial data migrations and clean ups in close cooperation with other migration teams and the responsible finance representatives
• Monitoring and incident handling of interfaces and data migration processes
• Perform regular system reconciliation and data quality checks
• Support the quarterly closing by executing special processes (quarterly set up of the infrastructure)
• Perform second level support and on-call duty as required
• Perform other position related tasks as instructed by Supervisor

• Provide cover for roles in other teams
• Any other ad hoc tasks as required from time to time

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

• University degree in business administration with specialization in information technology or equivalent
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good knowledge in accounting
• Good communication skills
• Experience in insurance/reinsurance technical accounting and/or IT project work would be an asset
• Flexible and open for new tasks, willing to learn permanently
• Very good knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of SQL would be an asset
• Self starter, independent and responsive in character and work
• Stamina and the drive to get things done
• Aware of cultural differences and able to overcome them
• Excellent team player attributes combined with a proactive approach and a 'can do' attitude
• Good command of English
