About the role

Are you passionate about VAT, a field that is increasingly important in the world of tax? Do you want to work in a team with strong links to colleagues in other locations?

This role features preparation of VAT returns for UK and CH for submission to tax authorities, as well as providing input into IT transformation projects.


Your responsibilities would be:
- Prepare VAT returns, Annual VAT adjustments and reconciliation
- Review and prepare VAT reports to ensure VAT has been accurately accounted for and is reported in the correct period.
- Ensure VAT payments and receipts are accurately booked, and VAT postings are completed and reconciled.
- Creation of quarterly VAT journals, ensuring VAT is posted to the correct account, cost center and entity.
- Process payment requests
- Actively look for and support the implementation of improvements to the way we do things
- Perform other position related tasks as required by manager.

In addition, you will:
- Help support the group's finance transformation and automation projects
- Work in very friendly and encouraging team of VAT professionals

The VAT team has been established in Swiss Re back to 2011 and since then we are responsible for VAT Compliance and Control, advisory and mainly VAT related projects participation. Currently the team consists of one EMEA VAT Compliance Manager and 3 Indirect Tax Analysts. For CH and UK we have Regional VAT Managers who will be your contact for VAT returns review and approval.

Our team of Group Tax Operations is a key team within Swiss Re's Group Tax department. We are the biggest team in the department, and we are working with colleagues in multiple countries.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

Microsoft Excel - Advanced

About you
