About the role & team

We are looking for an Operations Analyst for our Group Tax Operations team. The Group Tax Operations team is a newly created department directly supporting the global Swiss Re Group Tax team with reporting, analytics and data management. This person will be responsible for supporting the Tax Operations Manager in supplying initial preparation and business analysis of tax returns and financial reporting to Swiss Re Group Tax's local teams which are based in multiple jurisdictions.

Main responsibilities:
• Performing elements of Swiss Re Group Tax processes and deliver outputs relating to tax returns and financial reporting to local tax teams based in multiple jurisdictions
• Performing analytical review of outputs provided to local tax teams
• Identifying and implementing process improvements and other efficiencies in Swiss Re Group Tax processes
• Undertake balance reviews and ensure tax balances are reconciled
• Establishing proficiency in Swiss Re finance and IT systems
• Liaise with internal finance departments
• Providing ad hoc tax analysis as needed
• Support the local tax teams in tax audits

Other responsibilities:
• Contributing to Swiss Re Group Tax projects where needed

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

About you

• University degree in the area of finance, accounting or similar
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the area in tax or accounting
• Strong analytical skills with interest in information system, reports and data
• Enthusiastic, prepared to learn and advance in technical competence and general skills base
• Able to deliver quality output under tight deadlines
• Possess general accounting knowledge
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to develop relationships with local tax and finance teams in multiple jurisdictions
• Energetic, prepared to assist where required
• Team oriented and able to share knowledge
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Willingness to travel to other Swiss Re offices
