Job description, responsibilities and duties

The position holder is accountable for handling cash & cost operations tasks: generate and verify payments, performing bank account reconciliations.

Main duties are:
• Process payments to and from clients in a timely manner
• Liaise with internal staff to ensure correct details are held on internal systems
• Liaise with bank representatives to ensure the correct details are held on the bank account
• File bank account documentation
• Handle, or control, balance sheet reconciliation processes associated with Payments & Receipts
• Payments processing, error resolution and associated reconciliations
• Investigate/resolve queries from staff and external parties (suppliers, banks)
• Reconcile data in relevant systems on a regular basis
• Perform other position related tasks as instructed by Supervisor

About the team:
The Payments & Receipt team consisting of 23 members is responsible for processing of all incoming and outgoing payments in Swiss Re locations worldwide.
The team covers Europe, South Africa, Australia as well as Asian countries. Administration of payment connections of our clients and daily communication with internal and external stakeholders is also an essential part of our job.
Another aspect of our work is involvement in both global and team projects and initiatives. This gives our team members a chance to influence the way of doing things, they are encouraged to bring and develop new ideas and solutions and therefore to contribute to team's & Swiss Re's success.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination
Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Position is suitable for the graduate of Secondary Economic School or Secondary Grammar school with basic experience in the area of finance, banking, accounting, administration or University degree preferably in the area of finance, banking, accounting, economics
• Language skills: English fluent written and spoken, any other European language is an advantage
• Very good comprehension of MS Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Good verbal and written business communication skills
