Financial analyst

Job description, responsibilities and duties:

Key responsibilities:
• Conducting differentiated, bottom-up and top-down analyses of industries and companies
• Performing detailed valuations and constructing in-depth financial models in Excel
• Synthesizing, communicating and presenting long and short investment ideas to Investment Analysts and Portfolio Managers
• Monitoring market developments related to assigned industries and companies
• Attending industry conferences and management meetings (includes international travel)
• Identifying and analyzing relevant industry metrics
• Assisting with deal structuring and evaluation of term sheets

Personality requirements and skills:
• Prior experience in investment management industry preferred, but not required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in finance/economics
• Currently pursuing, or interested in pursuing, CFA accreditation (HFSBC is willing to compensate costs occurred)
• Curiosity for fundamental analysis, business models and public markets investing
• Advanced understanding of accounting/financial statements
• Valuation experience and excellent Excel modelling skills
