Job description, responsibilities and duties

Job Purpose:

The Identity & Access Management role supports the organization’s identity and access management program.

As security experts, IAM Analysts are required to review established permission models and processes within the organization and provide industry best practice guidelines in order to meet policy and regulatory requirements. Correspondingly, the responsibility includes participating in ongoing auditing, risk assessments and implementation of audit recommendations.

The role comprehends working closely with all internal teams by orchestrating and supporting updated implementation projects.

The Identity & Access Management Analyst is a key member of the Security Operations team and reports directly to the Identity & Access Management Lead.

Accountabilities and Activities:

Support permission models and process design.
Drive gap analysis and process improvement of existing IAM processes and tools.
Orchestrate access review.
Develop and publish internal best practice guidelines.
Define, develop and deploy business security roles as required.
Provide ad-hoc security advice and support risk assessments whenever IAM expertise is required.
Assess governance and regulatory compliance.
Participate in ongoing audits.
Review non-standard user accounts.
Compile, maintain and distribute a list of high value identities and permissions.
Propose continuous improvements following business updates and industry best practices.
Adapt the process design based on self-driven recommendations and user or application requirements.
Act as a primary point of contact towards internal users in addition to conducting ongoing and on demand training internally.
Maintain and develop detailed and up to date internal documentation.
Contribute to the development and implementation of security governance in IT, ensuring application security principles are applied during design and into business as usual processes to reduce risk, drive adoption and adherence to policies, standards and guidelines by the wider business.
Required Experience

5+ years of experience working in an Identity & Access management role in a security operations environment.
Excellent knowledge of industry standard IAM platforms and technologies (Azure AD, Conditional Access, PAM, EPM, AWS IAM, etc.).
Expert in managing IAM Governance, access provisioning to the platform, application and database level.
Strong experience should include designing and developing provisioning flows developing Role Based Access Control (RBAC) entitlements, implementing role resolution, role mining and role administration.
Demonstrated success with the development of workflows and documentation related to Identity & Access Management.
Understanding of fundamental Information Security principles and terminologies.
Ability to work independently, to carry responsibility and to self-learn.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Fluency in English.

Desired Experience

Experience working in a Security Operations Centre is considered a plus.
Demonstrated experience working as an IAM Analyst.
Proven critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyse information effectively to make sound decisions.
A track record of technical delivery working within a fast paced and pressured environment.

Desired Qualifications, Education and Certifications

Advanced college coursework in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security or similar, or equivalent industry experience.
Industry certifications such as:
CISSP/CISM
Microsoft Azure, AWS or other IAM tools
SANS GIAC Certifications
C.E.H/L.P.T
Other relevant certs
