Azure Cloud Engineer

In Slovenská sporiteľňa, a.z. we are seeking a talented Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team. The Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring its security, availability, and scalability. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of cloud computing patterns and concepts, extensive experience with Azure cloud services and platforms, and expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.

General tasks and responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking resources.
• Configure and manage Azure services such as Azure VMs, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Active Directory.
• Implement and maintain security controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data in the Azure cloud.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Azure infrastructure to identify and resolve performance issues.
• Automate deployment and management of Azure resources using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Azure CLI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-based solutions that meet business requirements.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and trends, and evaluate their potential impact on our cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy Azure cloud solutions: You will be responsible for designing and deploying cloud solutions that meet the specific needs of clients. This involves evaluating their requirements, designing the architecture, and configuring the necessary infrastructure.
• Cloud Infrastructure Management: You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Azure cloud infrastructure that supports the organization's operations. This involves monitoring the performance of the infrastructure, ensuring availability, and troubleshooting issues that arise.
• Security Management: You will be responsible for ensuring that the organization's cloud infrastructure is secure. This involves implementing security measures such as firewalls, access controls, and encryption. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Integration with Existing Systems: You will be responsible for integrating the Azure cloud infrastructure with the organization's existing systems. This involves designing and implementing integration solutions that ensure data consistency and smooth operation.
• Performance Optimization: You will be responsible for optimizing the performance of the Azure cloud infrastructure. This involves monitoring performance metrics and implementing measures to improve performance.
• Continuous Improvement: You will be responsible for continuously improving the Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure that it meets the changing needs of the organization. This involves evaluating new technologies and implementing improvements to existing systems.
• Documentation: You will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation related to the Azure cloud infrastructure. This includes architecture diagrams, configuration settings, and user guides.
• Training and Support: You will be responsible for training users on the Azure cloud infrastructure and providing support when necessary. This involves responding to user questions and resolving issues that arise.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
• Experience with Azure cloud services such as Azure VMs, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Active Directory.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Azure CLI.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including network security, identity and access management, and encryption.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Microsoft Azure certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, are a plus.
• Excellent and broad technical understanding and in depth knowledge of network (Cisco,..), storage (IBM,etc.), VM ware, operating system (Windows, AIX, Linux,..)

Experience:

• 2-3 years of experience working with Azure cloud solutions
• Experience in networking, security, and other related areas
• Experience working with cloud automation tools, such as PowerShell or Azure CLI
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Project management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
