Job description, responsibilities and duties

Siemens is a global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering, successfully operating in the industry, energy and healthcare sectors.

In line with Siemens regional orientation, we created an accounting team to provide governance and value added services for Central Eastern Europe. This team is located in the twin city of Bratislava and Vienna and interacts with roughly 100 companies in 17 countries. The Competence center increases the knowledge base and the quality of guidance provided and distinguishes itself from shared service centers due to its focus on governance and value added services as a headquarter in contrast to transactional services in the currently established service centers of other multinational companies.

Field of responsibility:
The employee will provide guidance to the CFO’s, commercial managers and local heads of accounting & controlling of Siemens companies in the CEE region in the following areas:
  • methodical guidance and operative counseling according to IFRS and group guidelines and procedures of the Siemens group
  • hands-on support to local teams for accounting transactions and their reflection in the respective IT systems, as well as related closing tasks
  • on-site support of the respective companies
  • support to setup and maintaining the AC related landscape for guidelines, work instructions and similar documentation, as well as exemption management (e.g. for payments)
  • support setup and maintain the Cluster AC role concept, including the relevant roles in IT systems
  • support setup Roll-out of AC concepts and projects within the Cluster, including project execution, training concepts and relevant tools
  • support Guidance, operative counseling and monitoring of transactional services in CZ for Cluster CEE (e.g. improve working instructions, conduct trainings, workshops, KPI tracking,…)
  • Together with the team, the responsibility for the monthly closing of all companies in Cluster CEE
  • Liaise with the external auditor
  • Monitoring Cluster CCE Guidelines and IT-Systems in order to comply with Siemens group AC related guidelines.

Personality requirements and skills
Expertise:
- university degree in the field of economics, preferably accounting, audit, finance
- knowledge of international accounting standards IFRS
- responsibility for Slovak accounting with at least 3 years experience
- experience with work in SAP, Excel
- fluent in English and preferably also in German in word and writing and basic knowledge of the respective other language
