Under the supervision of the Manager for Host Software, the Senior Android Software Engineer is responsible for implementation, verification, testing and documentation of the handheld software portion of Epocal’s epoc Blood Analysis System.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyzes, designs, and coordinates the development of Epocal’s epoc Host application for Android handheld devices
• Manages large scale projects, responsible for technical aspects and co-ordination of varied Epocal and outside interfaces
• Conducts software architecture and design activities
• Analyzes system specifications and translates system requirements to task specifications for junior programmers
• Responsible for planning, processing and performing all jobs in an efficient manner with no assistance from the supervisor
• Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures
• Design and development of data interfaces
• Troubleshooting of released application and logging
• Accountability for completion of assigned tasks
• Full knowledge and accountability for software life cycle development procedures

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in software related engineering or related discipline and/or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience
• 7+ years of Android development experience
• Hands-on experience with applicable technologies that include: Java, Android Studio, React, Android Studio/Visual Studio/Eclipse, SVN/Git, SQLite, Unit testing
• Has experience with Bluetooth stack
• Experienced in basic Android UI layouts, XML and activity lifecycle
• Experiences with multi-threading in Android and memory management
• Experience in Dependency injection in Dagger
• Experience with regulated environment (ISO, FDA) is preferred
• Well organized work habits and hight focus on quality
• Very good written and oral communication skills in English
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills
