Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Product Owner will be responsible to help define digital product stories for an agile ALM agile Development Platform of services used in the design & development of our medical device applications. The Product Owner will be part of ALM Competency Center (CoC) to focus on key future technologies used for development of Siemens Healthineers products and to support the Siemens Healthineers R&D organizations with tools and product related Infrastructure and Application consulting. As Product Owner you will maximize the value addition of the digital ALM platform utilized within the SHS R&D Teams.

The Application LifeCycle Management (ALM) team within Siemens Healthineers IT is responsible for providing R&D organizations with for a platform of services used in the development of our medical device applications.

Job Purpose:
  • Consults and supports the implementation of new or changed services for increased business productivity, including the discussion, analysis and acceptance of demand and supporting the planning for the development and implementation of service changes
  • Defining the vision for a product feature through consultation with key Business stakeholders, and external and internal collaborators
  • Responsible for understanding business needs and identifying how best to meet those needs. This includes working with business and technology areas to gather requirements for development and management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Works with internal key Stakeholders to define business solutions, ensuring alignment with business strategies and priorities, as well as the target benefits expected.
  • Work with internal key Stakeholders and Product Management to Collate, Prioritize, Define & Develop pipeline of enhancements and releases on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure that relevant stakeholders are involved in specification of new services and/or major upgrades to existing services
  • Definition and ownership of all functional, nonfunctional and program requirements ensuring appropriate prioritization against business objectives
  • Tracking of internal deliverables and feature set against business requirements and industry trends
  • Facilitating internal key Stakeholders engagement at the appropriate levels throughout the life of the program.
  • Validation, acceptance and approval of all use cases, user stories and user experience.
  • Approval of all acceptance criteria whilst following behavioral driven development techniques
  • Distill annual roadmaps into requirements and then prioritized sprints with the help of engineering
  • Work with Product Managers / Business owners to understand the business drivers and strategy
  • Collaborate with ALM vendors such as Microsoft, JFrog and others to ensure business solutions implementation.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • BS/MS in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes (DevOps, DevSecOps, Requirement Management, Test Management, etc) and tools.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product ownership/business systems analysis with a track record of successfully launching scalable digital ALM suite of solutions.
  • Experience with Agile Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools such as Azure DevOps server/services, GitHub, and DevSecOps apps.
  • Knowledge of UX design principles and the ability to work closely with designers to ensure the solutions is user-friendly and intuitive.
  • Intercultural Experience, Customer Orientation, and willingness to travel to customers at Siemens Healthineers sites
  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders
  • Excellent capability to gather, evaluate and understand business process & requirements
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand and analyze customer product requirements, and prioritize and schedule development initiatives
  • Coordinate development resources with the centralized development team and manage project work plans
  • Participate in internal meetings in both structured and ad-hoc manner, (such as stand-ups and sprint planning) to support development, track progress and identify potential problems and solutions

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Experience working in a regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, automotive, etc)
  • Experience in SCRUM development, in-depth knowledge of agile processes and principles
  • Experience working based on a Lean / Agile, working with the SAFe framework is a plus.
  • German language skills in Business written and spoken form a plus.
  • Travel availability to Germany and Key stake holder locations for workshops, meetings, as needed
