DevOps & Cloud Engineer for Machine Learning Platform

Job description, responsibilities and duties

The “AI Service” is a central service within Siemens Healthineers that provides a platform for data and non-data scientists for the implementation of machine learning use cases.

Our goal is to provide resources/infrastructure for the implementation of Machine Learning uses cases. Therefore, we provide AI/ML related cloud solutions that are secure, reliable, and easy to use.

Automation is key. By using automation mechanisms (e.g., in DevOps, Microsoft Power Automate), we want our service to scale. Automating tasks surrounding the platform will be among your main tasks. Moreover, for custom ML projects that use non-standard cloud resources, you will provide tailored solutions.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• You will take care of and administer the Machine Learning Platform
• You will setup and configure resources in Microsoft Azure surrounding Machine Learning and data provisioning
• You configure and maintain access and control management on the platform
• You will be responsible for setting up a monitoring system related to the resources created, and cost incurred
• You will be working on daily operational topics and answer queries of our customers as to usage and problem solving
• You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the Machine Learning Platform

Your qualifications and experience:

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or any computer science related course of studies
• You are familiar with modern software development concepts (e.g., CI/CD)
• You have experience in usage and configuration of cloud technologies on application and infrastructural level
• You are familiar with Azure DevOps or similar Code/Service-management platforms
• Appreciation of the concept of ML Ops
• You have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• The configuration or usage of Databricks or any similar Data Science solution
(e.g., AzureML, IBM Watson, GCP AIPlatform, etc.)
• Data extraction from various data sources (like Snowflake, MS SQL, MySQL, M365)
• Identity and access management (e.g., Role Based Access Control)
• Working with Microsoft Power Platform tools like PowerApps or Power Automate
• Data Visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or Qlik Sense)

• You work passionately on automating manual workloads
• You are interested in the up-and-coming innovations in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• Technical knowledge and communication skills
• You work autonomously, reliably and liaise with our team members to understand the requirements and demands to be implemented
• You have analytical capabilities for solving problems
• You are confident in speaking fluent English
• It is a plus to have first experiences with agile way of working (e.g., SCRUM)
