Job description, responsibilities and duties

This team member will be part of a team who are responsible to manage Run operations of Cloud and Data Center (CDC) Centre of Excellence team of Siemens Healthineers (SHS).

The ideal candidate for this role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing VMWARE solutions. This includes managing the infrastructure components of the VMWARE environment, including ESX servers, vSphere hosts, ESXi servers, VM storage, networking services and host networking. The Administrator will also be responsible for configuring and managing VMWARE virtual machines and would be ensuring the security compliance of the environment along with patching. Also administration, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, monitoring and upgrading.

Task and Responsibilities:
• Managing the lifecycle of VMWARE products; ensuring security is maintained and hosts are patched, configured, and up to date with the most recent patches
• Configuring ESXi host settings, including storage layout, network configuration, and security settings
• Deploying new virtual machines on an ESXi host, including selecting a VM template from a library or from scratch
• Monitoring all VMware services on the hosts to ensure they are functioning properly
• Troubleshooting problems with VMware services on the hosts
• Monitoring performance of ESXi hosts and virtual machines
• Working closely with the VMware Engineer to troubleshoot any issues together Implement volumes.
• Provisioning and managing VMWARE ESXi and vCenter deployments
• Designing the configuration of the infrastructure components in a VMWARE environment
• Configuring and managing virtual machines in a VMWARE environment
• Monitoring hardware resources to ensure performance requirements are met
• Managing capacity for storage resources in a VMWARE environment
• Troubleshooting any problems related to the infrastructure components in a VMWARE environment
• Troubleshooting any problems related to virtual machines in a VMWARE environment
• Maintaining current knowledge of new developments in the field
• Working closely with the other members of the team to ensure that all security policies are being followed.
• Ensuring that all systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
• Working with other members of the team to ensure that any issues or problems are addressed in a timely manner.
• Ensuring that all employees have a high level of knowledge about VMWARE products.
• Perform installation and configuration of Windows operating systems on Servers
• Perform installation and configuration of Windows Server operating systems on servers
• Monitor performance of Windows-based systems
• Troubleshoot errors on Windows-based systems
• Apply patches to Windows-based systems - Upgrade software on Windows-based systems.
• Maintain network security by installing antivirus software updates.
• Monitor network traffic for malicious activity
• Track inventory of hardware assets by serial number or other identifier.

• Overall 5+ years’ experience in Windows and VMWARE environment
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
