Job description, responsibilities and duties

Our Digital Buildings Data Science team is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Data Engineer who is eager to play with buildings data from all over the world and to be part of the offerings that provide actionable insights to our customers. Your playground will consist of large data sets, latest software technologies and impactful global software offerings, and you will work with a passionate team of data scientists, engineers, architects and product managers to build tomorrow’s data-driven products.

Your new responsibilities:
• Analyze data and build analysis and transformation tools to ensure high data quality for our data-driven products
• Design, build and launch efficient & reliable data pipelines to move and transform data
• Own the end-to-end data engineering component of the data science products
• Evaluate and support the implementation of advanced data analytics techniques in joint collaboration with the global Data Science team, Software Architects/Engineers and Product Managers
• Work with large volumes of data covering a wide range of information from building operational data to equipment and user behavior data in order to intelligently design data models for optimal storage and retrieval
• Securely source data from both internal and external sources and discover new perspectives for old data
• Contribute to managing the data science infrastructure and processes
• Communicate complex concepts and the results in a clear and effective manner

We expect:
• Minimum two years of work experience in a professional context, preferably in a global setup with distributed virtual teams and environments
• At least two years of work experience in the analytics field (including data science, business intelligence, etc.)
• Strong data fundamentals and demonstrated ability to organize, clean, schematize and process data as well as experience in querying large raw datasets for analysis
• Ability to work with large code bases
• Excellent Python skills. Optional: hands-on experience with Big Data stack environments (Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive)
• Experience in SQL (Oracle, Vertica, Hive, etc.) and relational databases (Oracle, MySQL)
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies
