Job description, responsibilities and duties

• Identifies purchasing needs of the organization in the area of direct materials
• Establishes sustainable long-term relationships with key suppliers by liaising between suppliers and company stakeholders, in order to ensure transparency on business objectives and capturing this in a contractual framework
• Makes sourcing decisions, administrates the bidding process in order to secure items and services within our budget and requirements
• Develops and enriches the Categories' objectives, goals and strategies, including all short, mid and long term financial targets and any risk mitigation strategies
• Works with other parts of the organization to forecast demand and evaluate inventory levels
• Analyzes market trends and applies this knowledge to insightful buying decisions.
• Ensures compliance with internal procedures
• Regular reporting to the Group Purchasing Director

Personality requirements and skills

• Master’s degree in Finance, Business or Technology with minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing
• Deep understanding and professional experience with purchasing Contracts
• Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent negotiation, customer service and consulting skills
• Experience in working across various functions, businesses and regions
• Critical thinking
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Occasional domestic and/or international travel
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and leading multiple projects at once
• Strategic thinker and problem solver with the ability to transform goals into actionable plans
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, to achieve team goals and complete assignments within established deadlines
