What are the tasks and responsibilities of project assistants?

Project assistants perform administrative tasks according to the instructions of their project managers and ensure smooth communication between all relevant parties. They are often involved in all project phases, which results in a broad range of tasks. Apart from the traditional assistance tasks, such as correspondence and schedule management, their responsibilities also include project planning and documentation.

Which hard skills and soft skills should project assistants have?

Project assistants should be proficient in applying standard project management methods. Furthermore, they should have a good command of MS Office (Excel) and the common project planning tools and be familiar with the relevant industry and the company’s business environment. Project assistants should possess a large range of soft skills, be able to work proactively, and always think ahead.
