Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Application Support Specialist to join our IT support team.

In this role, you will provide Tier 2 support for a variety of systems, including Linux, Windows, Oracle databases, and monitoring tools like Zabbix, Wazuh. Your expertise will ensure the smooth functioning of critical applications and systems, and you will work closely with other IT teams to resolve technical issues, implement system improvements, and provide excellent service to end-users.

Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to, diagnose, and resolve application-related issues for both internal and external users.
• Use tools like Zabbix, Wazuh to monitor system performance, track incidents, and ensure uptime of critical systems.
• Perform in-depth analysis and troubleshooting for Linux and Windows-based applications, ensuring that issues are swiftly and effectively resolved.
• Assist with the maintenance and support of Oracle databases, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and optimization.
• Effectively handle incidents by investigating issues, resolving them promptly, and providing feedback to improve system reliability and user experience.
• Work closely with other technical teams (e.g., infrastructure, network, and security) to resolve complex technical issues.
• Maintain detailed records of troubleshooting activities, incidents, and solutions for knowledge sharing and future reference.
• Collaborate with system administrators to apply patches and perform routine maintenance on Linux, Windows, and Oracle environments.

Personality requirements and skills

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in Application Support: Proven experience in providing support for application issues at Layer 2, including troubleshooting and resolving system errors.

General Technical Knowledge:
o Linux Systems: Comfortable working with Linux servers, command-line tools, and shell scripting.
o Windows Systems: Experience in supporting Windows-based applications and servers.
o Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with Zabbix, Wazuh, Splunk for system monitoring and log analysis.

• Analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes of technical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical teams and end-users.
• A proactive approach to providing great customer service and timely issue resolution.
