Accounting Manager

Job description, responsibilities and duties

  • As a Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, processes in accordance with the requirements of legislation and internal policies and principles
  • Managing professional accounting and controlling activities in accordance with applicable legislation, accounting regulations and company procedures for PwC NoN CEE parent companies (UK)
  • Responsibility for the comprehensive processing of all accounting transactions as well as responsibility for the correct preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable legislation and internal guidelines for entrusted legal entities
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual controlling and reporting activities for regional legal entities and internal PwC clients
  • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Continuous improvement of company processes and procedures
  • Coach others, recognise their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development.
  • Hiring, training and motivating accounting staff members while supervising and delegating task to meet KPIs,SLA
  • Provide client’s satisfaction survey
  • Keeping informed about the latest developments in the finance industry
  • Cooperation with internal and external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting
  • Communication with tax offices and other external institutions in accordance with work mandate
  • Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others.
  • Participate in improvement activities and automatization
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

Personality requirements and skills

  • Graduate degree in finance, accounting or economics
  • At least 5 years of experience in similar position
  • Accounting qualifications - ACCA or CPA is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles
  • Strong intellectual, organizational & technical skills with a desire to seek new learning opportunities to stay technical and relevant
  • Self-Starter capable of deciding what needs to be done without being told
  • Good communication skills in English, oral and written, with the ability to draft and deliver clear messages to clients
  • Ability to think and plan ahead, be flexible, accurate and quickly shift gears in a dynamic environment, to cope with tight deadlines
