Job description, responsibilities and duties

Our Shared Service Centre (SSC) is currently looking for a GL Accountant. This is an opportunity for a talented, self-motivated individual to develop their skill set and network in PwC, working with experienced Accounting and Finance practitioners across the region.

As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Work in SSC is specific and different than work in other departments of PwC. It combines the advantages of working in a SSC and the unique environment of the largest consultancy network in the world.

Your responsibilities:

  • manage general ledger accounting tasks of the assigned country in cooperation with local finance teams
  • ensure the accounting tasks are performed timely and in high quality (per agreed SLA)
  • manage monthly period end activities and financial reporting
  • manage and book fixed assets (incl. FAR)
  • regular checks of other accounting processes
  • participation on standardization and efficiency projects
  • other agreed accounting tasks per country specific requirements

Personality requirements and skills

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience with complex double-entry accounting
  • experience of GL accounting is an advantage
  • undergraduate or graduate degree in finance or economics is an advantage
  • good command of English (written and spoken - B2)
  • knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles, procedures and MS Excel is a must
  • knowledge of IT systems and databases: SunSystem, Sharepoint, G-suite is an advantage
  • ability to work independently, analytical thinking and good organisational skills
