Job description, responsibilities and duties

Profect Slovakia currently employs 25 software engineers in Bratislava and plans to grow further through adding additional Business roles, Software Engineers and Internal Services roles. The Company is part of the Synpulse Group, a management consulting company with currently just over 500 employees spread around the globe.

This part-time accountant job is part of these plans and the position itself is expected to grow to full-time (potentially supporting also other offices in Europe) with the Bratislava office extending its services and increasing its capacity, eventually with own onshore clients but mainly by providing near-shore services to other group companies in Europe and also the US.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

General Ledger:
  • Prepare journal entries and related schedules for various general ledger accounts (accruals, prepayments, rebates, foreign currency revaluation run, petty cash expenses, etc)
  • Responsible for the month-end closing process (including accruals)
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliation

Intercompany:
  • Control intercompany invoices (central preparation & accounting done in Manila)

Accounts Payable:
  • Process vendor invoices in NetSuite and arrange bank payments
  • Verify and process staff reimbursement expense reports
  • Weekly upload of bank statements to NetSuite for outgoing payments
  • Maintain and reconcile petty cash disbursements
  • Accrual for expenses
  • Contact person for questions and request about AP and payment statements

Accounts Receivable:
  • Controlling and sending invoices
  • Support PM to create invoices
  • Creating reports and send out reminders. Post allowance for bad debt if needed
  • Weekly upload of bank statement to NetSuite for incoming receipts to ensure the open invoice status is up to date
  • Contact person for questions and request about AR and payment statements


Payroll & People:
  • Independent preparation of monthly payroll for currently 25 pax
  • Ensure social security and health contributions are paid on time
  • Processing payroll in the bank
  • Post payroll related journal entries
  • On-/Off-boarding of employees with relevant agencies
Regulatory Filing:
  • Ensure timely tax reporting (VAT, income tax, WHT) and compliance
  • Liaise with local fiduciary when required
Month-end and Year-end closing activities:
  • Prepare audit schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Answer internal audit questions of regional Finance Manager on the completion of monthly and yearly Financial Statements and any other related requirements
Other:
  • Communicate with and direct report to Finance Manager, Group sitting in Switzerland
  • Communicate and indirect report to Location Head, Slovakia sitting in Bratislava
  • Part of Profect Slovakia team

Requirements
  • Accounting degree or relevant qualification
  • 5 – 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience of working in professional services
  • Experience of working in a business with multiple entities
  • Experience of working with Netsuite preferred
  • Strong accounting knowledge combined with experience in SK tax and controlling topics
  • Relevant experience in other EU jurisdictions a plus
  • Detailed-minded, well organized, responsible, independent and able to meet deadlines
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
