Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
- Serves as a link between Sales and Production Planning. Maintains a constant relationship with the sales, marketing, finance, sourcing and manufacturing teams to understand the demand forecasting drivers. Works across markets and company mills
- Consolidates the sales forecasts into a united forecast of product needs, resulting in demand plan.
- Challenges the forecasts from the sales teams across markets and the usual runs (historical data, seasonality, market trends, promotions, budgets…) with relevant data analysis. Compares the sales pipeline with historical sales as a test of sensibleness
- Prepare the forecast of the Interco between mills and shares with production planners
- Works together with Sales to improve the forecasting accuracy by troubleshooting problems, adjusting statistical models, implementing process changes etc.
- Responsible for selection and maintenance of statistical forecasting models, SKU analysis and qualification to the right forecasting methods/approach
- Identifies opportunities to meet customer demand during periods of limited product availability. Coordinates with CS/Sales and other mill departments in case of capacity/stock issues
- Responsible for creation of regular Sales forecast for allocated SKUs
- Provides support and cooperates with other departments in the development of new products- Responsible for SKU management. Conducts regular SKU reviews based on changes in demand/volatility
