Orchid propagation - Production manager

Purpose of the function
PPS is specialized in the production of vitro-orchids. Our production process is labor intensive and driven by quality. You are responsible for the people management and the organisation of the production in all its aspects.

JOB DESCRIPTION
• You are responsible for the people-management of +/- 70 workers. You take care of the day to day issues, holiday planning etc.
• You will coach, inspire, train and evaluate the employees. You also coach your assistant and your team leaders in achieving their development and operational objectives. You organize the short and middle terms staff-planning so that all tasks to be performed are assigned to the right people.
• Based on the production planning, provided by the supply chain department, you organize the production activities in the laminar flow area & cultivation rooms to realize the requested production. You follow the guidelines concerning quality, costs, safety, well-being, sustainability...
• You actively control and report KPI’s.
• With the support of the quality manager you take continuous improvement initiatives concerning plant quality and the introduction of new production techniques. You make proposals, discuss them with colleagues and the site manager and you contribute to the possible implementation of these proposals.
• You work in close collaboration with the site manager (to whom you will be reporting) and with your colleagues in Slovakia and Belgium.
