Job description, responsibilities and duties

MAIN REPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
• Provides in country Medical affairs support for their assigned portfolio of medicines.
• Ensures in country medical input and review/ approval as required by Pfizer SOPs for regulatory, safety and product quality activities related to their assigned portfolio of medicines.
• Provides medical review of promotional materials and other promotional activities as required by legislation and Pfizer SOPs.
• Provide in country medical support as required for Medical Information teams.
• Works with the Country Medical Lead on the Country Medical Council to ensure in country compliance of all hospital BU medical/business activities with local legislation, and Pfizer local/global SOPs.
• Develop and maintain excellent professional relationship with opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.
• Act as the single medical point of accountability for medical knowledge and insight for assigned portfolio at a country level
• Provide medical guidance and input to commercial and regulatory in support of key product maintenance activities and product defense.
• Provide subject matter expertise and strategic leadership on reformulation efforts, due diligence on business development opportunities, abbreviated and supplemental submissions and rapid response teams as required.
• Develop and execute a medical strategy that supports the country operating plans with a specific focus on generating medical insights; e.g. portfolio maximization, local business development initiatives.
• Provide medical leadership on regional and global projects and strategies as required.
• Participate in medical initiatives that are above country and possibly above region to further medical excellence as needed.
• Develops highly functioning teams and can grow and develop colleagues as applicable.
• Customer focus- Designs, establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.

The Medical Advisor is accountable for medical and scientific initiatives related to the country portfolio of products and the development and execution of the country strategic/operational plan that supports the strategic operating goals for the business, and are the single point of accountability for medical knowledge related to the portfolio of products. Is the single country point of accountability for medical and scientific issues related to their assigned portfolio of medicines. Responsible for medical to medical interactions related to assigned portfolio.

Secondary without school-leaving examination
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Education and Experience

MD or equivalent suitable scientific background with 2+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
