Job description, responsibilities and duties

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage a feature team of software developers working in an agile development environment
  • Establish yearly goals and career paths for team members
  • Assist in Talent Acquisition – hiring, job fairs, and interview process
  • Participating in interviews, onboarding, and ramping up of new team members
  • Plan and organize team building events and tech talks
  • Conduct yearly performance reviews of direct reports
  • Work with product owners and department leads to publish schedules for upcoming business initiatives
  • Ensure the team adheres to SDLC process
  • Review and improve software development and quality practices
  • Coach and mentor team members to develop the skills for personal and professional growth
  • Work with team members to ensure timely, successful, and quality delivery of software
  • Participate in LOE and design sessions with product owners, architects, and quality engineers
  • Work with the technical leads to identify and assist in skill development for each team member
  • Track, Establish, and publish productivity and quality metrics for development team
  • Understand the current system architecture, design, and implementation
  • Work with architects and technical leads to execute the vision and adhering to architecture guidelines and best practices
  • Collaborate with offshore leads and managers to standardize development practices
  • Assist in evaluation of software tools and processes
  • Assist in troubleshooting system issues; provide off hours support
  • Approve weekly timesheets and vacation requests
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities for the team
  • Conduct 1-1 meetings with the team members
  • Assist in building a cross-functional development team

Requirements for the employee

Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University student
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of 5-8 full stack developers
  • 7+ years of experience in OO, software development and practices – Java, Spring, RDBMS stack
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies – SCRUM, Kanban
  • Experience with MS project is a plus
  • Experience migrating applications to cloud will be a plus
  • Transforming monolith applications to micro services
