Job description, responsibilities and duties
Technical center in Lozorno is the main engineering center in Central Europe for Exterior Business Group. We are developing brand new products for our premium customers. As part of the technical center, you will be working among international teams of engineers specialized in manufacturing processes, in design, in technical purchasing and various other technical functions.
As material engineer you will be in charge of materials usage for our new products (bumpers, tailgates, spoilers). Your main tasks will be to:
• Define the optimum raw material for the projects, work closely with Raw Material Purchasing dpt.
• Solve material, paint and glue problems
• Define the technical criteria to choose the raw material, based on customer specifications and propose a risk removal plan and validation plan to the project
• Recommend the raw material to the project, based on validation results
• Propose technical solutions, in case of non-conformity
• Keep regular contacts with customers and suppliers to understand the certification of raw material
• Propose alternative raw material solutions to reduce costs and / or improve quality of the products
• Consolidate and manages raw material database per product line for the raw material information
• Can manage or participate to Research & Innovation project linked to raw material
• Lead supplier’s development policy
