Job description, responsibilities and duties
ON Semiconductor is looking for a Software Development Engineer to be part of our Corporate R&D Design Platforms and Tools group. This group is responsible for Design engineering site infrastructure enablement and maintenance.
The definition of hardware based on the application layer requirements in collaboration with IT
As a Software development engineer you will participate in the feasibility, architecture, implementation, rollout and maintenance of an embedded software development tool flow as well as to participate into the development of custom hardware (IC) platform related software.
You will be positioned within a multi-site development team and work closely with engineering teams across the company.
The definition of hardware based on the application layer requirements in collaboration with IT
- The management of the data management and revision control software platform
- The design flow for embedded software development
- Development and maintenance of software tools based on requirements from ON Semiconductor’s engineering groups

- Strong C/C++/Shell programming skills.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl).
- Experience with embedded platforms & embedded software development environments.
- Experience with SCM tools (GIT, SVN, …).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with issue tracking tools (Jira, …).
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluent English language (written and spoken).
- Ability to work in a global multi-cultural environment.
